On January 17, the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Southern California hosts “A Case-Study Discussion on K-12 Education Today,” based on the Long Beach Unified School District. Speakers from the Graduate School of Education include Dean Kathleen McCartney, academic dean Robert B. Schwartz, and associate professor Monica Higgins. On January 28, the Harvard Club of the Palm Beaches presents Robert A. Lue, professor of the practice of molecular and cellular biology and director of life-science education, for a discussion on “The Transformation of Teaching and Learning in the Life Sciences.” On January 28, Doyle professor of cosmology John P. Huchra talks about “The State of the Universe” for members of the Harvard Club of San Diego.

On February 20, the Harvard Club of Cincinnati examines “The Challenges of Globalization” with speaker George C. Lodge, Chua Tiampo professor of business administration emeritus. On February 23, John Palfrey, the executive director of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School, examines “Digital Natives” for the Harvard Club of Maryland.
